Rick Cohen

 

Richard “Rick” Cohen is an award-winning filmmaker and producer in the
entertainment industry. After his tour of duty on the University of Pennsylvania’s
Ivy League championship football teams circa ‘83-‘86, Rick graduated with a B.A.
in Communications from the Annenberg School. After a stint at NYU film school,
Rick appeared in numerous SAG national TV commercials and films and earned
his WGA card by selling two screenplays in Hollywood to major studios. Living
in LA from ’91-2000, he was also West Coast Director of Writer’s Boot Camp and
Executive Producer of the Miss Jr. American pageants.
In 2001, Rick moved to Atlanta and opened Endorphin Entertainment &
Endorphin Athletes, two video production companies that specialize in
documentary style filmmaking within the sports genre.
 
In 2009, Rick’s film, “Faded Glory” took home five audience awards on the
film festival circuit. “Faded Glory” received both a domestic distribution deal
from NEHST Studios and an international distribution deal from Forward
Entertainment in 2010. The film was released theatrical in April 2010 and the
DVD is available on Amazon, iTunes, Netflix and at store.nehst.com or
 
Rick’s 2nd documentary, “And the Lord said…Smack ‘em in the Mouth” received
high praise for its gutty portrayal of Christian football in the south exposing the
dichotomy of God vs. Violence. The film played between the Georgia High
School Football championship games on PBS and was played in the “shorts”
category at film festivals around the country in 2010.
 
Also in 2010, Rick joined FishEye Media Productions as Executive Producer in
charge of business development. “Season of a Lifetime” was a joint production
between his company, Endorphin Entertainment and FMP. Rick continues to
work with FishEye in an independent producer role.
 
In 2011, Rick directed the GPB football pilot “Bad to the Dome” BTD is in the
lines of MTV’s very successful “Two-A-Days” that appeared on that station in
2006-2007. This series moves to Georgia and showcases Walton High School in
Marietta during the 2011 football season.
 
Rick lives in Sandy Springs, Georgia. He is divorced and is raising two teenagers,
Jacob 16 and Lexie 14.
